dotDefender Monitor is a FREE software tool that is deployed on the web server – Apache or Microsoft IIS, and its aim is to identify attacks targeting web applications. It includes security rules based on best practices and therefore there is no need for security expertise for its initial configuration, although advanced customisation is also available for complex environments. The tool provides real-time attack information, such as time stamp, originating IP address, type of attack, website or application under attack, original requests, etc. In addition, it presents attack statistics over time in a colourful, easy to understand log viewer, while automatic updates are provided for detecting new threats.
